ACRID offers professional development opportunities throughout the year. Workshops are open for both members and non-members of our organization. Occasionally workshops may be designed to suit the needs of only those persons who are currently active in our profession. What an incredible day! May 15th was our workshop "Shhh, Let's talk dirty!", held at AB School for the Deaf in their beautiful Sunroom. There was a great turn out with Deaf community members, teachers, student Interpreters, recent graduates and experienced Interpreters involved. Everyone brought forward valuable discussion and learning in a safe, non-judgmental atmosphere... and... well... may I add... the food that was brought in for the pot-luck was simply amazing!
I would like to send out a special thank you to all of you who attended and shared your time with us! Extra special thanks go out to Tracy Hetman, Connor Yuzwenko-Martin and Amber Schultz for their added support, and to Laurie Ann Wheeler for donating our "Door Prize". Also, a very big thank you to AB School for the Deaf for the use of their Sunroom for the event. The $150.00 raised at the event will be donated to support AVLIC 2012.
